stylish blogger award

I've been given an award! I'm so honored. Elizabeth from The Mustard Ceiling and Carrie from Hazardous Design honored me with the Stylish Blogger Award. Thanks ladies!

As the tradition goes, I have to share seven things about me that you may not know. (Coming up with this list was harder than I imagined.)

1. I am originally from South Africa. My family emigrated to the States when I was 5 years old, and we've been here ever since.

2. A couple of years ago, I had my own boutique Home Staging business. It was supposed to be a side-job while being a stay-at-home mom, but it turned out to be a bit more time-consuming. It was fun while it lasted, though.

3. I would love to have an etsy shop one day. (I just have to figure out what I would sell.)

4. We just bought an Airstream trailer!! (I plan on posting photos soon.)

5. This is one of my all-time favorite books.

6. I would love to learn about flower arranging.

7. My 20-year high school reunion is coming up this summer, and I haven't decided yet if I will go.

Now is the fun part. I get to pass the award on to several of my favorite bloggers. I'd like to share this award with

Happy reading everyone!

  5. Too funny, I also have dreams of starting an Etsy shop, there's just nothing I can make better than anyone else! I learned how to knit, but I don't think a straight scarf shop would do very well...

  8. Are you going to read my blog knowing that I wear heels? :) I love everyone's differences. That's what makes blogs such inspiration.

And as for our daughters--they will have all the time in the world to be whoever they want to be. Right now is their golden time- childhood, and nothing better than to spend it as a tomboy. I was one too many moons ago :

I'm kind of 'over' the whole reunion thing; however, I also don't want to regret skipping it. We'll see...

  16. @ Kim~
LOL about the Airstream. Actually, it was initially my husband's idea to get a trailer. I was JOKING and told him to "make that trailer an Airstream, and you've got yourself a deal." He totally went for it! :)

I'm impressed by ANYONE who wears heals all the time. I'm too wimpy. ;)

  18. @ elizabeth~
The Home Staging business just took too much out of me, and too much time away from my family. It wasn't 'fun' anymore. I basically (slowly) sold off all my staging items, including a lot of furniture that I had acquired.
