This is what I was afraid of. Everything happening at once.
Back in January, John and I were twiddling our thumbs, just dying to get the renovations underway. I was trying to tackle as many mini-projects as I could, as well as paint the one room that would remain 'untouched,' because I knew that the day would come when I would be spread too thin.
That day has come. I am stressed and overwhelmed.
I need time to stand still so that I can catch up. Because right now, I feel like I'm 3 days behind schedule.
At least the framing seems to be on schedule.
Maybe I just need a good night's sleep, and I'll feel less stressed in the morning. Here's hoping.
The framing looks great! A good night's sleep always helps me when I'm stressed out. I'm admittedly not Type A, but when I get overwhelmed, it's usually because I know I can't get everything done that I want to do. And I deal with it by just not doing anything that absolutely doesn't have to be done. PB&J for dinner, wear the jeans an extra day, no idea what's going on in the world, hair unwashed in ponytail, that type of thing. :) Obviously, it only works for about a week max, but it does get me through hectic times! Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hate that feeling. I feel like I don't know what to tackle next in order to get the ball rolling. Take a deep breath, look at your list, take off anything that is not absolutely necessary and take one step at at time...It will all come together beautifully.
ReplyDeleteHow was Disney?
you nailed it on the head. three days away doesn't really help in the exhaustion dept. you'd think a vacay would relax you...doesn't really work that way, for me anyway. hope you are feeling rested today and ready to tackle the next thing. the framing is looking great! i got so excited when i saw the new stairs!
ReplyDeleteBoy do I know the feeling. Renovating is an emotional rollercoaster-enjoy the good times and grit your teeth through the bad. I'll admit to a couple of stress induced crying jags last year.
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling and I hate it! I'm a list maker. Sometimes it helps me to have everything written down in one place. Then again, sometimes it doesn't and I just need to have a good cry :(
ReplyDeleteIt must have been nice to come home from your trip and see so much progress completed on your house. The framing is looking great!
