  8. Kind of sad the spiral staircase is gone. I LOVE spiral staircases. But, they are more amazing in theory than in practice. I lived in an apartment that had a spiral staircase, and while it looked beautiful (and realized a life long dream of mine), it ultimately was an anticlimactic space whore that ruined my dreams of what a spiral staircase can and should be.

  11. @ Mary~ I know!! I always wanted a spiral staircase, too. In fact, my brother was shocked to hear that we were ripping that sucker out, because he remembered how I loved them. But they're just not as cool as *the fantasy*.
